NBTO - National Biotechnology Olympiad

National Biotechnology Olympiad (NBTO) is conducted every year in India to create awareness about Biotechnology. This exam brings in an element of challenge and competition as about inspiring younger generation to enhance their knowledge about Biotechnology issues. The exam also tests candidate’s aptitude for taking up career in Biotechnology. Website of NBTO http://www.eduhealfoundation.org

Eligibility

CBSE/ICSE/State Boards and NIOS students studying in class 1 to 11 are eligible to appear. BIFO (Finance) is for classes 9-12 and NIPO (IIT-PMT) are for classes 6-12. Result, marking and other details: One mark is allotted for each right answer. There is no negative marking. In case of a tie, following preference with respect to the marking will be followed: First, subject questions, then General IQ. And finally interactive questions. In case the tie-up persists other parameters including teenier view will be followed. The student roll number will be as given in the attendance sheet. Level 2 and level 3 follow level 1 exam.

Selection Process

It has two stages of selection procedures.

  • STAGE I: written exam conducted by state/UT.
  • STAGE II: Students selected in state level exam appear for national level.

Reward

  • Prizes worth 50 lakhs will be awarded to participating students, teachers and principals.
  • There is a special award for participation in 5 or more EHF Olympiads.
