Personal bio-data:-

Jawahar Lal Nehru was born on November 14, 1889. His father Motilal Nehru was a famous Allahabad based barrister. Jawaharlal Nehru’s mother’s name was Swaroop Rani. Jawaharlal Nehru was the only son of Motilal Nehru. Motilal Nehru has three daughters apart from Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehrus were Saraswat Brahmin of Kashmiri lineage.

Education and Marriage:-

He received his education in best school and universities of the world. He did study in Harrow school. He did law from Trinity College, Cambridge. He lives seven years in England widened his horizons. He received a rational and confuse outlook, sampled Fabien, socialism, Irish nationalism which he say for own patriotic dedication.

In 1912, he back to India. He started legal practice. In 1916, he got married with Kamala Nehru. In 1917, he joined Home Rule League. In 1919, he came in contact with Gandhi ji than his real debut into politics. Gandhi ji had begun a movement across Rowlett Act. Nehru ji was directly drawn to mahatma ji’s commitment for active with calm, protest. Gandhi ji saw India’s future in the hand on young Jawaharlal Nehru.

What Jawaharlal Nehru does for country:-

Motilal Nehru and Jawaharlal Nehru boycott western clothes for expensive possessions and pastimes. Now they wear Gandhi cap and Khadi Kurta. Nehru ji took part in the Non- Cooperation Movement. He was arrested for first time this movement. He was come back after few months.

Jawaharlal served as the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee from 1926 to 1928. Motilal was held the Congress’s annual session in 1928-29. Subhas Chandra Bose and Jawaharlal Nehru backed call for full political independence at the same time that session when Motilal and others requested dominion status within the British Empire. To resolve the point, Gandhi said that the British would be given two years to grant India dominion status. If they did not, the Congress would launch a national struggle for full, political independence. Nehru and Bose reduced the time of opportunity to one year. The British did not respond.

Congress’s annual session was held in Lahore in December 1929. That time Jawaharlal Nehru was the President of the Congress Party. At the same time a decision demanding country’s independence was run out. Then Jawaharlal Nehru unfurled free India’s flag in Lahore on 26 January 1930.  In 1930 Gandhi ji gave a call for Civil Disobedience Movement. The movement was a great success. The movement forced British Government to acknowledge the need for major political reforms.

The Congress Party decided to contest elections when the British promulgated the Government of India Act 1935. Campaigned vigorously nationwide for the party but Nehru ji stayed out of elections. Now the Congress builds governments in approximately every district. In the Central Assembly he won the mostly seats. In 1936, 1937 and 1946 Nehru was the Congress presidency. He came to take up a position in the nationalist movement second only to that of Gandhi. In the 1942 at the time Quit India Movement Jawaharlal Nehru was arrested. He back to jail in 1945. In 1947 he took a leading part in the negotiations that culminated in the emergence of the dominions of India and Pakistan. Nehru ji become the first Prime Minister of independent India in 1947.

Nehru ji is the most important part of the building modern India. He builds up a Planning Commission, encouraged development of science and technology, and launched three successive five-year plans. In agricultural and industrial production his policies led to a sizable growth. Nehru had a very important role in independent India’s foreign policy develop. He called for liquidation of colonialism in Asia and Africa and along with Tito and Nasser, was one of the chief architects of the nonaligned movement. He played a constructive, mediatory role in bringing the Korean War to an end and in resolving other international crises, such as those over the Suez Canal and the Congo, offering India’s services for conciliation and international policing. He contributed behind the scenes toward the solution of several other explosive issues, such as those of West Berlin, Austria, and Laos.

About death:-

Nehru couldn’t improve relations between India and Pakistan and China. The Kashmir issue proved a stumbling block in reaching an accord with Pakistan, and the border dispute prevented a resolution with China.Jawaharlal Nehru died of a heart attack on May 27, 1964.
