Introduction of Punjabi Language

Punjabi is considered as an Indo Aryan Language. It is orated broadly by number of people who reside in Punjab region. It is even measured as a tonal language. Also this language has diverse dialects and is narrated in numerous subordinate regions of greater Punjab. Punjabi idiom holds Majhi dialect which is even measured as a status and standard dialect. In addition it is observed as a textbook of Punjabi language. Moreover in Pakistan country, this verbal communication is largely spoken by many people as their national tongue. Additionally this idiom is ranked as the 10th most narrated verbal communication in the world. This language was initially spoken in historical area of Majha. Besides constituting Hindko language and western Pahari, Punjabi verbal communication is strange in Indo European lingo as due to its tone. In the year of 2008, the survey stated that there are 78 million speakers of Punjabi language found in Pakistan, 28 million speakers were found in Canada, USA and UK. As per census there are 104 million speakers in total in World of Punjabi language.

 

History

A successor of Sauraseni Prakrit, the chief language of medieval northern India, Punjabi emerged as an independent language in the 11th century from the Sauraseni Apabhramsa. Many ancient Sufi mystics and later Guru Nanak Dev ji, the first Guru of the Sikhism started the literary tradition in Punjabi. The early Punjabi literature has had a very rich oral tradition and was principally spiritual in nature. Muslim Sufi, Sikh and Hindu writers composed many works in Punjabi between 1600 and 1850. Baba Bulleh Shah was the most famous Punjabi Sufi poet who put Saraiki language Culture into the Punjabi Language.

 

Dialects

The British multilingual George Abraham inhabits some collection of dialects which is identified as Western Punjabi. This lingo is narrated mainly in north and west areas of Punjab heartland. In 1919, the Lahinda dialect was printed in a dimension of India’s Language survey. In addition this polyglot was also assembled in dialect of Southern Lahnda which is recognized as Saraiki. This dialect of Lahnda or Lahndi features modest argument. Afterwards many alterations happened and Pakistan region presented up their indigenous dialects and approved Lahnda dialect.

 

Writing System

Punjabi language is written in numerous scripts of dissimilar types. These writings include the creed of orator and also on the dialect and in which region it is spoken. Furthermore in Pakistan with Punjabi region, Shahmukhi writing is used while in Punjab region Gurumukhi writing is used.
