About Rabindranath Tagore-

 

Rabindranath Tagore was an Indian Bengali polymath. He reshaped the Bengali music, literature and Indian art. He was become famous in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Rabindranath Tagore was the first person who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. His poetry was viewed as spiritual and mercurial; however, his "elegant prose and magical poetry" remain largely unknown outside Bengal.

Rabindranath Tagore was born on May 7, 1861 in Kolkata. His parents were Debendranath Tagore and Sarada Devi. He was the youngest child of thirteen surviving children, Tagore. He raised by servants because his mother was died when he was very young and his father travelled widely. He largely avoided classroom schooling and preferred to roam the manor or nearby Bolpur. Rabindranath Tagore had interested in drawing, geography, anatomy and history, literature, mathematics, Sanskrit, and English. In February 1873 he left Calcutta with his father for tour India some months. He never go school but he received his education form a prevent teacher at home. At the age of eight he started writing the poem. When he was 16 years old; his first poem published under the pseudonym Bhanushingho (Sun Lion). In 1878 he went to England to study law. He came back before completed the law. During the long sea journey he translated his work Geetanjali into English. He has mentioned the mysticism and sentimental beauty of Indian culture in his writing for which a non-westerner was honored with prestigious award first time. Together with being a renowned poet, he was also a genius, writer, novelist, visual artist, and composer. Tagore was a good philosopher through. Tagore’s contribution towards the Indian literature is very vast and unforgettable.

Two song of Tagore are anthem of two countries such as “Amar Shonary Bangla” (national anthem of Bangladesh) and “Jana Gana Mana” (national anthem of India). Tagore’s creative writings, whether in the form of poem or stories, are unchallenged even today. Perhaps he was the first who bridge the gap between west and east through his effective writings.most of his poem and stories wre based on the poverty, backwardness, and illiteracy of the Indian people. He received many prize for his poem and stories. He was very religious and spiritual man which helped him a lot in the days of crisis. He was a great educationist thus he founded an abode of peace, a unique university named Santiniketan. He many massages to people to encage him for freedom and for Indie’s freedom he tried also but on 7th August 1941 he was died before India’s freedom. He was suffering from Kidney infection.
