Taj Mahal (Agra)

Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building in whole world. The king of Agra Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife Mumtaz, who died in childbirth. It’s made by white marble. People called it a symbol of love. The real name of Mumtaz Mahal was Arjumand Bano Begum.

Shah Jahan is the great king. Everyone called him a cruel leader. He got married to Mumtaz Mhal when he was 21 years old. That time he already gated two married. She gave 14 children in 18 years married life. When she gives 14th childbirth she died. That time she is 39 years old. Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal as a monument to her memory and her fertility, but then relapsed into a life of scandalous behavior. This tomb was only one of hundreds of beautiful buildings that Shah Jahan erected, mostly at Agra and in the new Dehli that came into being under his planning.

Many architects are agree on the Taj Mahal is the the most perfect of all buildings standing on earth. It built in 22 years. More than 20000 workers work for built it. During the time king of Jaipur sent the marble as a gift to Shah Jahan. The building and its surroundings cost more than $200,000,000 in today’s currency. The Taj Mahal was completed in 1653.

Interesting fact about Taj Mahal:-

 1. It built by more than 22000 people including labourers, painters, stone cutters, embroidery artists, and many others.

 2. According to legend Shah Jahan wants to build a black marble Taj Mahal in the front of this Taj Mahal but the war with his sons interrupted his plans.

 3. The Taj Mahal changed his color at different time of day. In the morning its looks some pinkish, in the night when moon light on it its looks some golden, in the evening its looks milky white. They say the changing color resembles the changing mood of females - in particular the Emperor's queen.

 4. The four sides of the Taj Mahal are perfectly identical creating an astonishingly mirrored image on each side. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and symmetry of architectural elements.

 5. More than 1,000 elephants were employed to transport the construction materials used to build the Taj.

 6. The full height of the Taj Mahal is 171 metres (561 feet).

 7. The Taj Mahal is surrounded by significant gardens and a number of other buildings including a mosque and guest houses which make up the 17 hectares of land within the complex walls.
