Healthy snack

SNACK is a small amount of food eaten between meals. A snack is a portion of food, smaller than a regular meal, generally eaten between meals. Healthy snacks include those that have significant vitamins, are low in saturated fat and added sugars, and have low sodium content.

 Children and adolescents need to eat throughout the day to focus on what they're learning and to have the energy to be active. Every child feel hungry after came back school. Then eat something light, that give you nutrition and energy.

Why healthy snacks?

1. Healthy snacks can reduce the risk of developing a number of health issues. (like diabetes, obesity, and heart disease).

2. The healthy habits students learn from regularly eating healthy snacks.

3. Healthy snacks can improve students’ behaviour, focus attention span, academic achievement, and attendance.

Here are some healthy snacks:-

Frozen bananas. Cut a banana in half and put each half on a Popsicle stick. Roll the halves in yogurt and then coat with a crispy rice cereal or granola and freeze. Your child can enjoy them frozen or slightly thawed.

Yogurt treats. Make yogurt parfaits by layering fruit, like strawberries and blueberries, and low-fat yogurt in a parfait glass. Top with granola.

Quick pizza. Drizzle tomato sauce and sprinkle low-fat mozzarella cheese on a whole-grain English muffin half. Sprinkle with seasonings, such as oregano and garlic. Heat in the toaster oven until the cheese melts.

Snack mix. Make a mix of ready-to-eat cereal, dried fruit, and nuts or seeds. Place in a sandwich bag and you have an on-the-go snack.

Smoothies. Blend low-fat milk or yogurt with a banana or strawberries and some ice for a low-fat milkshake.

Fruits, different kinds of milk, fruits and vegetable juice, fruits and vegetable soup, veg sandwich, french-fries etc.

These are best healthy snacks for everyone.
